After West Point, the United States Army commissioned Steve as an infantry officer.
During his time in the Army, Steve completed Army Ranger School, achieving the coveted Ranger Tab. He also secured his jump wings after completing Airborne training. For his service in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, the Army awarded Steve the Bronze Star Medal for his meritorious achievement and service. As a platoon leader, Steve learned what it takes to earn respect and lead Americans under incredibly challenging conditions.
After the military, Steve started a small business. He grew the business in just over three years from three to over 60 employees. Steve knows what it takes to make a payroll, motivate the people around him, serve customers, and meet all the challenges small-business owners face on a daily basis. He kept his business afloat during COVID, civil unrest, and labor shortages. Steve now runs an investment business with his family.
Steve and his wife Carly, a former schoolteacher, recently welcomed their first child, Steven James IV, this summer at University Hospital in Geauga County. Steve and Carly are parishioners of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, and look forward to baptizing their son there. It’s time for the next generation of Northeast Ohio leaders to step up and get our state back on track. Steve wants to make sure Ohioans, especially our children, can live a good and productive life right here in Ohio. We can’t do that by sending the same old, career politicians to Columbus. With so much at stake, at such an uncertain time in our history, we need servant leaders like Steve with honor, integrity, and respect to secure our children’s future.
